George Lang, Director
George was raised in St. Paul and currently lives in Blaine with his wife Ana and their children. George and his family attend Emmanuel Christian Center in Fridley.
George leads FreedomWorks as an example of a life transformed by Christ. Having served three prison sentences, he knows the struggles of reentry firsthand. George’s call to serve men comes from Isaiah 42:22 “These are my people hidden away in caves, dungeons and prisons with no one to speak for them.”
Jeff Schwartz, Admin Coordinator
Jeff came to FreedomWorks in April 2015 having worked with two other business/ministries that work with people coming through reentry and recovery.
His heart is to work behind the scenes to help others be successful. Jeff’s organizational and administrative skills enable him to support the others as they lead this ministry.
Steve Swinehart, Volunteer Coordinator
Steve came to FreedomWorks in the Spring of 2017. As the Volunteer Coordinator, Steve’s focus is on recognizing and assisting existing volunteers as well as recruiting new volunteers to help support the FreedomWorks vision and ministry growth. Steve also helps with screening men when they apply for our program and guiding them through the program once they arrive.
Steve’s background began with jobs as Program Manager, Director of Engineering, and Manufacturing Plant Manager. After retiring from the for-profit world, Steve recently worked with Feed My Starving Children as a Project Manager. Steve states, “I believe God has orchestrated the events in my life over the past 11 years to prepare me for this ministry. “
Steve’s life verse is Isaiah 1: 17- Learn to do right. Seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless, the widows and others less fortunate.
Trinka Olson, Communications Coordinator
Trinka came to FreedomWorks in December of 2017. She has extensive experience in business management, resource development and strategic communications with an AA, AS, and BA in the social sciences. She will soon complete a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Administration.
Trinka has a true passion for helping people transition out of prison and personally knows the struggles associated with overcoming multiple barriers to successful reentry. She is an active member of the Northside community and enjoys the diversity of her neighbors.
Most of all, Trinka loves Jesus and is fully committed to knowing, loving and serving God. She feels extremely blessed by the opportunity to apply her various gifts and talents to grow the important FreedomWorks ministry.
